The Companion Program registrants are trained by Resources for Seniors, following a satisfactory criminal background check. They have graduated from a 2-week training course dealing with aging issues and caregiving techniques, both in the classroom and a brief internship. They are also certified in First Aid, Adult CPR, and North Carolina Interventions (NCI). Registrants must be at least age 50 in order to take the training class. *Companions/ Sitters are self-employed, not employees of RFS. *Fees and services are determined between the Companions/ Sitters and clients directly. *Companion Registry is available by calling the Information Desk at Resources for Seniors, or may be downloaded from the RFS website.
