Publishes "The Caregiver" newsletter twice per year and the Triangle Area Monthly E-newsletter, free to all NC residents, and will send free information packets on dementia and Alzheimer's disease to NC residents. Also operates in-state hotline for families and caregivers of individuals with dementia, and connects families and professionals to Alzheimer's education conferences. Staff has great depth of experience and understanding of Alzheimer's disease/ dementia, and can offer very specific and helpful suggestions to family members about ways of coping and managing behavior. They are also available for technical assistance and training programs for agencies serving individuals with Alzheimer's or their caregivers. Serves 24 central NC counties with NC Project C.A.R.E. (Caregiver Alternatives to Running on Empty), the only NC dementia-specific program offering care consultation and respite vouchers for families caring at home for family members with dementia.
