Eligibility: Low income families in Wake County
Fees: No fee to apply; 20-year, 0% mortgage approximately $575/ month, including insurance and property tax.
Intake Process: Client must first attend a Homeowner Information Session, which will initiate the application process. Call the main number 919-833-1999, or check out their web site for a list of upcoming information sessions.

Program Description:
Habitat for Humanity offers affordable home ownership opportunities for low income households (individuals, couples, and families). Applicants must not be current home owners or previous owners within the past 3 years, must have steady income during the past year, and must have a reasonable credit history. Home Preservation Program (formerly A Brush With Kindness) works with volunteers to complete minor external repairs, exterior painting and cleaning with homeowners who are unable to afford this work. The ReStore has discounted building materials, appliances, and furniture for sale, and is open to the public.
