Program Description:

Handles licensing of all adult care homes (assisted living facilities/ rest homes) and family care homes in NC. Any facility caring for more than one adult resident must be licensed. Operates a centralized complaint and question hotline designed to provide a centralized resource to ask questions regarding care and services provided by facilities and agencies licensed by DHSR. May also call Wake County Human Services for additional information regarding complaints. A "star rating" system for adult care facilities went into effect January 1, 2009.
