Program Description:

Local volunteer organization offering classes for seniors wanting to learn how to use computers. Classes include Computer for Beginners, Introduction to Computer Applications, Word Processing, Internet/Online, Genealogy, Digital Photo Editing, Windows Operating Systems, Exploring Files and Folders, etc. Small class sizes -- 1 instructor and two assistants to each class of 8-9 students. Classes meet once a week for 2 hours, usually for 8 week sessions. This is a 501c3 organization and is always looking for volunteers. You do not have to be a computer expert to volunteer. Formerly known as Raleigh SeniorNet, this group is now based at the Five Points Center for Active Adults (a Raleigh Parks & Recreation facility), and is no longer affiliated with the national SeniorNet organization. Staffed by volunteers. Class descriptions and schedules are available on their website. Similar classes are offered in Cary by Cary SeniorNet.
