Project DIRECT is a community-based program whose primary goal is to decrease the burden of diabetes among African-Americans in Southeast Raleigh. Provides diabetes classes taught by Certified Diabetes Educators. All participants must be under the care of a health care provider. The project also sponsors a diabetes resource center, walking programs, and healthy eating sessions in the community. All activities are currently free.
