Building Foundations is a professional rehabilitation program for adults with a serious mental illness. Goal is to keep participants functioning in the community, and to prevent re-admissions to the hospital. Provides educational and recreational programs, skills development and some pre-vocational training. Also affiliated with Supportive Employment program to place those who want to work. (Some older adults participate in the program.) Also provides ACTS (Assertive Community Treatment Services), Behavioral Health and Substance Abuse Outpatient Treatment services, psychiatric services and dual diagnosis program. Also operates a Drop-In Center located at 401 East Whitaker Mill Road, Raleigh. This is a peer run recovery center for adults focusing on social skills training, community integration, and wellness management programs.
