Program Description:

Nonprofit organization whose mission is: To strengthen individual and community development through social and educational activities; to facilitate the incubation of supportive services and groups; and to identify needs and advocate for resources benefiting the diverse population of lesbian, gay, transgender and bisexual people, their friends and supporters within and beyond central North Carolina. The Center sponsors SAGE Raleigh (Services and Advocacy for LGBT Elders), to advocate for and reach out to the members of the LGBT Community age 50 and up. The mission is to assist LGBT seniors with issues dealing with health care, legal problems, housing and inter-generational relationships, as well as provide social interaction and reduce social isolation. Thursday mornings from 9-12 are a regular drop-in time for coffee and chat, and there is an organized lunch once a month as well as other scheduled activities and programs.
