Eligibility: Cancer patients in Wake County; other counties can call for referrals

Intake Process: Call toll-free Cancer Resource Network phone number, not local office. They will refer to local coordinator. Clients will be asked a series of questions that may need to be answered by the cancer treatment center.

Program Description:
Transportation program takes cancer patients to cancer therapy appointments. For ambulatory patients only. It is best if the client is aware of when and how often transportation is needed for their treatment in order to ensure that they are provided with transportation those days. The agency suggests having the doctor's office or cancer treatment center call to reserve the rides. Volunteer-driven program, therefore drivers are not always available. Referrals need to be made 5 days in advance. Free of charge.
