Program Description:

Rx Outreach is an affordable way for people of all ages to get medicines they need. Through this program, people who qualify financially can get medications that treat a wide range of conditions including diabetes, asthma, heart disease, and depression. People may take advantage of the program even if they receive medicines through another discount program. They can be uninsured, underinsured, or insured. The program is available to individuals and families with incomes of up to 300 percent of the federal poverty level. For a single person, income must be less than $36,180 per year; for a couple, less than $48,720 per year. There are a limited number of drugs covered by this program, but there is no limit on the number of prescriptions from the list that an individual can order. Individuals can order a 3-month supply of each medication, as long as they have the appropriate prescription from their doctor. A 3-month supply costs $20-50 depending on the medication. Medications are mailed directly to the client and ship 10-14 days after application is approved. Each member of a household must file a separate application. Patient must send doctor's prescriptions for requested medications along with the application. Applications are available to print from website. This program does cover some medications not included under Medicare Part D, such as benzodiazepines (Xanax and Valium generic equivalents).
