Law clinic serving moderate to low income clients in Wake County with issues of elder law and poverty law. Clients are assisted by law school students with oversight from faculty, dealing with such legal issues as: powers of attorney and other advance directives, problems facing grandparents raising children; fraud and consumer problems, nursing home questions, debt questions, abuse, guardianship, landlord/tenant, Medicaid, food assistance, unemployment appeals, simple wills (if person owns real estate). No fee to clients for legal services, but clients involved in court proceedings could incur some expenses.
